Establish a Scholarship

Using your charitable resources to make a difference through education is one of the most tangible, rewarding experiences that a donor can enjoy.

Scholarship funds are among the Foundation’s most popular charitable giving tools.  This is because the value of an education is undeniable in its power to transform lives and communities.  In 2011, the Foundation administered $1.2 million in scholarships to over 440 deserving students.

The Foundation is a valuable resource for those who are interested in supporting their community through education.  We have the ability to work with a broad range of assets and determine the best way to invest them based upon your individual goals.

Foundation staff works with donors when establishing the parameters of their scholarship fund program. This can include setting guidelines like eligibility requirements or creating a customized selection process. You will also determine whether the scholarship program will be a perpetual resource through an endowment or a temporary resource for a specified time period.

Once your scholarship fund is established, the Foundation provides ongoing service to make sure it is managed properly.  We oversee assets, report on their growth, assist in selecting students who will receive your funding for their educational advancement, and produce an annual report for you to review.

From smaller one-time scholarship awards that are made in memory of a teacher or coach to vast programs that provide renewable need-based scholarships, our professional staff will work with you to craft a program that reflects your goals.  Contact Amy B. Murphy at 314-880-4965 to begin the process of creating a scholarship fund.
