A Century of Service. Giving for Good.

howtoWhen you establish a fund with the St. Louis Community Foundation, you’ve taken the first step in making a difference through charitable giving.

The Foundation is an agile and creative charitable giving partner that is dedicated to helping you accomplish your charitable giving goals.

The following steps will help you establish your charitable fund:

Clarify Your Charitable Intent

Most donors begin by working with us to clarify their charitable intent.  What do you want to accomplish now or in the future? Do you hope to address a specific issue within our community, help a particular group, or provide ongoing support to certain organizations? We’ll help you define the role you and your family will play in how distributions are made.

Shape Your Own Charitable Gift Fund

Once you’ve clarified your charitable intent, we’ll work with you to identify the most appropriate Fund Types. You will  work with your advisors and the Foundation’s staff to shape your own charitable gift fund using one or all of the basic fund types as building blocks.  Every fund agreement is customized to reflect your giving goals.

Choose the Most Appropriate Way to Give

We’ll  work with you and your advisors to create a charitable giving strategy that maximizes charitable dollars while reducing  current and future taxes. These strategies involve choosing the best assets to give and identifying the best gift timing. Visit Ways to Give for more details.
