Grant Funds Available for 2012
The Spirit of St. Louis Women’s Fund (SOS) connects women across St. Louis to collectively strengthen the community through informed, focused grant-making. The group, a component fund of the Greater Saint Louis Community Foundation, has more than 225 members Since 2006, SOS has awarded 64 grants to 41 nonprofits totaling $909,500.
Nonprofits seeking funding for the 2012 grant cycle are invited to submit a letter of inquiry and, if selected, a full grant application. Applicants must be 501(c)(3) organizations operating within the St. Louis area that provide services within the city of St. Louis and/or one of the following counties: St. Louis, St. Charles, Jefferson, and Franklin in Missouri or St. Clair, Madison, and Monroe in Illinois. Letters of inquiry can be submitted online at www.soswomensfund.org or by mail beginning August 26, 2011.
Grants are not restricted in any fashion to issues dealing with women, but are made to organizations focusing on at least one of the following areas:
- Arts and Culture
- Social Services
In particular, smaller organizations are encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to grants that support direct services over general operating grants. However, grants for operating support will be considered if it’s demonstrated as necessary to provide direct services.
