Sustainable Neighborhood Small Grant Competition

headerfinal4The City of St. Louis Sustainable Neighborhood Small Grant Competition invited teams of neighborhood organizations, individuals, religious organizations, and other community groups to propose projects that are designed to help improve the sustainability of where they live, thereby contributing to a healthier City and region. Seven winning projects of the competition will receive a grant of $5,000 to complete a project that includes a tangible and measurable outcome by October 31, 2013. Each winning project will be captured on film, documented, and made part of an overall database of ideas from which others can learn.

Among others, the competition organizers are looking for proposals that will demonstrate:

  • Successful sustainability projects realized at the neighborhood level
  • Community engagement and investment
  • Measurable and tangible results
  • Ideas from the City of St. Louis Sustainability Plan brought to life (creating economic, social, and/or environmental initiatives that will help improve quality of life at the neighborhood level)

Grant winners will be announced on July 1, 2013, 2013; visit the website for more information.
