The Spirit of St. Louis (SOS) Women’s Fund connects women across St. Louis to collectively strengthen the community through informed, focused grant-making. The group, a component fund of the St. Louis Community Foundation, has nearly 200 members. Since its founding in 2006, SOS has given the St. Louis region over $1,700,000 in grants.
Nonprofits seeking funding for the 2015-16 grant cycle are invited to submit a letter of inquiry. Along with other grant-makers in the region, SOS will be using the Missouri Common Grant Application Short Form for letters of inquiry.Organizations will be notified if they are chosen to submit a full proposal.

SOS does not generally provide grant money for operating support but may do so for specific costs associated with well-planned projects. Grant amounts range between $5,000 and $25,000. Preference is given to organizations or projects responding to urgent or critical needs, especially those not being addressed by other organizations, projects with specific or measurable outcomes, and to organizations with budgets under $1 million.
